Issue
International, enterprise-wide compensation/incentive packages and next year compensation recommendations, covering 80,000 employees worldwide, utilizes a custom, organically grown Microsoft integrated solution driven by unique annual criteria established by senior management. Each year the Microsoft integrated solution platform must be re-tooled for the new criteria requirements and dependencies and repopulated from live Workday data. The time it takes to generate a file for each of the 80,000 employees is a concern, currently taking over 12 seconds per file. Also the current year compensation rules, goals and recommendations must be updated in the legacy integrated Microsoft application in order to generate year-end bonuses and pay changes. 

Solution 
› Installed into existing Access Application a proprietary, custom Access diagnostic code analyzer application that reports code performance, weaknesses, record counts, executed SQL, procedure flow and execution times to expose application deficiencies. 
› Refactored the Access application and the Excel macros included in the HR Annual Compensation Microsoft integrated solution to improve performance, reduce runtime and utilize current year rules. 
› Deprecated significant portions of unnecessary, inefficient code and replaced with more efficient, speed driven code. 
› Installed proprietary Access error logger and instant notification system. 
› Supported business UAT and made changes and modifications per user feedback.
